Dealership Introduces Strategy to Make Car Shopping More Enjoyable

For many consumers the thought of purchasing a vehicle is daunting. Haggling with a dealer and being at the mercy of the dreaded “finance manager” in order to avoid being ripped off is a situation that most shoppers would rather avoid altogether.

The excitement of driving a new car is often tempered by the hoops one must jump through in order to attain it. Attuned to this sentiment, Toyota of Seattle and Honda of Seattle, a large dealership within the Emerald city, transformed the buying process into a stress-free and customer-focused experience.

Starting in 2014, Toyota of Seattle and Honda of Seattle began offering their “One Price” shopping experience to consumers that is built around transparency. Each new vehicle has the dealership’s best price posted front and center along with fees clearly presented, negating the need for haggling and fostering trust between the dealership and shopper. The dealership also offers complimentary warranty coverage and roadside assistance, allowing the shoppers to extend their stress-free experience as they leave the dealership for the open road.

“At a time when reputation is more important than ever before with the accessibility of online reviews, we must create the best possible customer experience from start to finish. Everything we do is built around the One Price philosophy,” said Tim Miller, General Sales Manager at Toyota of Seattle and Honda of Seattle.

The latest addition to the One Price program was designed to appeal to a younger generation of shoppers accustomed to purchasing products online without stepping foot into a brick and mortar rooftop. The Express Store offered by Toyota of Seattle and Honda of Seattle brings the One Price model online and offers shoppers the ability to purchase their vehicle online and arrange for home delivery.

“It’s fun changing a business model. We’ve been in the process of adapting to the customer, especially the younger generation who are used to the online retail model. It’s challenging, but fun doing something different. We are the only One Price dealer in the Seattle area, so this truly sets us apart,” said Melissa Miller, sister to Tim and COO at Toyota of Seattle and Honda of Seattle.

Looking ahead, the Millers hope to continue to build upon the success of the One Price program by promoting awareness of their Express Store to broader audiences and by providing their customers with a stress-free experience throughout the duration of their vehicle ownership.
