The 2018 Nissan Maxima is a full-size sedan with a bit more of a sporting character than most other cars in its segment. As the largest sedan in Nissan’s lineup, the Maxima slots above the mid-size Altima and has a starting MSRP of $33,270. Swoopy styling and a high-quality interior make the Maxima an interesting upgrade over midsize sedans.
Pros: Space-age Styling, Very Comfortable Seats, Spirited Performance
Cons: Outdated Switchgear, Less Room Than Competitors
Looks Best In: Pearl White exterior/Charcoal interior
Competition:Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Toyota Avalon, Chevrolet Impala, Kia Cadenza, Buick LaCrosse, Ford Taurus
Summary: Offering a more dashing design and invigorating driving experience than some of its more humdrum competition, the 2018 Nissan Maxima is a full-size car that manages to look and feel cool. Prices for the Maxima start right around where the V-6 Altima tops off, so if you’re considering a high-end Altima it’s worth taking the more opulent Maxima into consideration due to its much nicer interior accommodations. If looking for a full-size sedan for roominess, you’ll be better served looking into the prosaic and practical Chevrolet Impala or Toyota Avalon.
