The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse is a mid-size three-row SUV that is primarily designed for families. It’s positioned above the compact Chevrolet Equinox and below the full-size truck-based Tahoe in Chevy’s lineup. Fresh off a recent redesign, the Traverse has shed its rather bland appearance for a truly handsome design that out-styles its competitors, namely the oddly proportioned Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander. The Traverse has room for up to eight passengers and is available in several trim levels, with a $20,000 gap between the $30,925 base model and a loaded High Country model.
Pros: Wonderful Exterior Design, Spacious Cabin, Room For Up To 8, Smooth V-6
Cons: Advanced Safety Gear Optional, Efficient 4-Cylinder Only Available With Front-Wheel-Drive
Looks Best In: Black Currant exterior/Jet Black interior
Competition: Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, Dodge Durango, Nissan Pathfinder, Kia Sorento, Volkswagen Atlas
Summary: The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse is a well-designed crossover that has plenty of room for people and cargo. The comfortable interior, compliant ride and decent MPG’s make the Traverse a good choice for shoppers looking for a minivan alternative. Although its interior is rather plain, the sharp exterior is among the best looking in its class.
